This year the trees are full to bursting with fruits and berries. More acorns, beech mast, rowan, elder and hawthorn than I have sen for at least 40 years.
This could mean that after the two previous severe winters, the trees are producing more fruit to further themselves, in expectation of a mild winter this year.
Or… Mother nature is stocking the larder for all the little critters in case of another hard winter.
Personally I think that we’re in a cycle of cold winters. This happens about every 40 years. I will update again in early spring!
Get planting! Best wishes, Len.
